City Managers Department Call for Award Nominations: Deadline Dec 4th 5 PM
The City Managers Department of the League of California Cities is now accepting nominations for awards that will be presented at the City Managers Conference. Please submit your nominations no later than Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, by 5 p.m.
Those who submit an awards application might be contacted and have an interview scheduled with the Awards Committee.
More information about the awards:
1. The John H. Nail Award is presented to one outstanding municipal assistant (regardless of position title) and one City Manager who has contributed significantly to their city government and to the advancement of their community as a whole during the previous 12 months. *
2. The Wes McClure Award of Distinction honors a leader making a difference for the profession. It honors one city manager’s outstanding career service, leadership, ethics, expertise and innovation. This award does not need to be presented on an annual basis but instead, whenever appropriate as needed to recognize outstanding individuals. Nominations for this award must be submitted by one of the City Manager Area Groups.
3. The Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities recognizes a city manager or assistant successful in promoting the advancement of diversity within the community and workplace by developing and implementing effective programs, policies and/or practices. Nominations for this award may be submitted by elected or appointed city officials.
